Allegations of widespread irregularities and corruption have surfaced regarding the distribution of the 10 kg VGF (Vulnerable Group Feeding) rice allocated for the underprivileged in No. 9 Char Manika Union Parishad. These serious accusations are directed at the acting chairman of the Union Parishad, Minara Begum.
According to local sources, the destitute were entitled to receive 10 kg of VGF rice each as per government directives. However, the current acting chairman is facing allegations of extreme mismanagement, nepotism, and the deliberate deprivation of genuine beneficiaries during the distribution process.
This massive irregularity came to public attention through reports from the local journalists’ organization, ‘Dakshin Aicha Press Club.’ Such actions by a public representative have sparked deep resentment and frustration among the local impoverished community. The victims and local residents have urgently drawn the attention of the relevant higher authorities, demanding a swift and impartial investigation into the incident, as well as appropriate legal action against those responsible.
